Our Business

Ocean Geo-Frontier Co., Ltd. is a marine geophysical services company established by Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK Line), PGS, Hitachi, Ltd. Starting its operation in 2019, we operate the 3D Seismic Survey Vessel “TANSA” owned by Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation (JOGMEC) to acquire and deliver highest- quality subsurface data.

Together with members expertise and shareholders specialty, OGF will not only operate “TANSA” as a 3D Seismic Survey Vessel with high end technology and competitiveness in the international market, but also will meet the needs from various energy transition initiatives, such as screening and characterization of CO2 storage sites.

OGF aims to be a key contributor towards the realization of a new carbon-free society. To achieve that vision we strive to grow as an international company, by delivering quality solutions in a timely and precise manner for the challenges that the energy industries are facing towards carbon neutrality.

Consignment contract from JOGMEC

OGF has been selected to operate the Japanese government’s “Domestic Oil and Gas Basic Survey” project on behalf of JOGMEC. It is a national project to complement and accelerate investment in offshore resources inside the Japanese territorial water and EEZ. To realize private driven exploration

As an independent geophysical survey company, OGF’s ambition is to constantly attract energy companies worldwide, by providing reliable data acquisition and imaging services. We can conduct a survey at challenging areas like shallow water, deep water, and heavy vessel traffic areas, and can deliver highest- quality fast track products directly after acquisition to enable a rapid start to interpretation. To realize the ambition, OGF and its shareholders are eager to integrate their specialties.
